Piano and Double Bass Lessons

...yes, I also teach in English!

From double bass to piano

Piano teacher, double bass teacher and musician

Almost simultaneously with my double bass studies at what was then the Basel Jazz School, I began teaching children and young people. Around 2010, my interest in the piano arose, and for over ten years, this instrument never left me alone. At first, it was as if I were entering an unknown continent. I covered large distances self-taught, but I repeatedly sought help from experienced classical pianists. I also began accompanying my own students on their piano journey early on.

Over the years, I've matured into an experienced teacher myself. I enjoy teaching beginners of all ages, with a particular focus on adults. Because I didn't really take the piano seriously until I was in my thirties, I've had to develop numerous learning strategies for problems that early beginners don't even encounter.

So I would like to encourage all those who are hesitant: Start playing the piano today!

(If you think you're too old for this... believe me, you're not alone in this false belief! If you give yourself the chance, I'd be happy to convince you otherwise.)

Getting to know us is free

To see if we're a good fit, I offer a free trial lesson. This way, we can get to know each other without any obligation: I can see where you're at, and you can see whether or not you like my teaching style.

Not every student is a good fit for every teacher and that’s OK.
